What a twist of fate!

Who could know that just one year later we will be back to Qatar! But it's true, and we are back in Doha.
Right now we live in Al Gassar Resort (near the Pearl); we are still waiting our container to arrive.

During my absence in Doha local crafters founded a creative group and now they organize meetings, workshops and even sales. I decided to become a member of this community.

Yesterday I’ve wrote an application, and today I was working with my Facebook.
I have finally created a business page www.facebook.com/elenaterpbeadwork .
This will be a page about my handwork: my new handmade jewelry pieces, new products, sales, my plans and upcoming events.
All photos of my work are also moved to this page.

So welcome, please visit and check "likes" to follow me and my hobby!

The year end

After almost seven years living in Qatar we have moved to Australia. Our things (and my studio too) are not on their right places yet. So I'm sure I'll not create new jewelry this month, it's just not possible.
Instead of that I spend my free time opening and setting up my shop on Etsy. It will take time to fill it up, but you are welcome to visit my store https://www.etsy.com/dk-en/shop/ETBeads.
Therefor my traditional mosaic (with some pieces I made this year) is already ready and I can show it early this time.

' 12

Every year, in December, I make a small mosaic of my beadworks made for the current year.
This time I'm a little late with this ... But here it is.

More brooches

What can I say? It is not easy to have several blogs. This one was completely abandoned. So.
The last entry here was about brooches, so today I’m showing my new brooches.

Although, of course, they are not new. The first brooch (with a beautiful variscite cabochon) was made for the Egyptian Festival.

The others (with porcelain cameos, tiger's eye and serafinite cabochons) I made just before the summer vacation. One of them became a gift to my mother in law.

At the last moment

It has been so long since I wrote here last time!
I think I better hurry and show my new projects before this year ends.
I begin with some jewelry I’ve made for Christmas.

Three brooches with serpentine cabochons.

Two of them have a “real Christmas” design and the last one has been already sold at the Christmas Bazaar in November.

Two similar necklaces in Christmas colors with embroidered pendants and spiral ropes. The pendants are made with milky quartz cabochons.

Pearl Collar

A new embroidered necklace. This time I’ve used “water treasures”: fossilized coral cabochon and freshwater pearls; and blue rivoli Swarovski, Czech and Japanese seed beads, and metal findings as well.
I’ve chosen the color “coffee with milk” as the primary color of the necklace. I wanted to emphasize the iridescent whiteness of the Biwa pearls (they are so "wrong" in shape, but so beautiful). I’ve also used Czech beads mix (gold nuances), which suit the golden colors in the cabochon.
So now I’m ready for our summer vacation!

"Cheshire Puss"

"Well! I've often seen a cat without a grin," thought Alice; "but a grin without a cat! It's the most curious thing I ever saw in all my life!"
Those two necklaces were made at the same time and I practically used the same beads selection for them. The idea was to make ONE necklace and with help of colors to create a stylized image of the CAT. But then I began to understand that the necklace will be too unwieldy – too much for me and not my style. So I decided to split it into two projects.
And here they are: a Cellini spiral Necklace with a metal pendant and a big embroidered pendant with a turquoise cabochon.

A new project

I’m learning (teaching myself) a new beading style - Free Form.
This collar is my first Free Form work. The color combination is also new for me.
Variscite pendant, variscite round beads and Czech seed beads.

Winter mood

Last Friday we had a little Christmas dinner for my friend and her family. They are going on vacation this week, so we wanted to meet them and to wish a pleasant trip before they go.
My friend is one who wears jewelries practically every day. But almost all of them are made of silver and gold. The only bead jewelries she has are earrings (white round beaded beads), which she has bought last year; and a spiral bead rope, which I made for her last year as well.
So I decided to make another present for her, and this time I wanted to try something new for me – a brooch. Of course it should be a winter brooch, something in white and silver colors.
I have chosen a cabochon of mother of pearl shell and freshwater pearls. For decoration of those I took silver color Japanese seed beads and tiny Swarovski crystals.
So here is the brooch.

The backside is covered by a piece of white leather. The brooch measures 6 cm x 4.5 cm. And the photo … yes, I still need to practice.

"January" (a collar and earrings)

A big jump to cold color spectrum.

From the bright and warm autumn colors – into the January tinkling air and frosty silver patterns.

Blue agates in silver. Very simple and rather strict.

Indian Summer

Bright green, orange and, of course, gold; a little bit of cool lilac and watery transparent. The golden leaves and a dragonfly, lost in time. The last dragonfly of this summer.

Lost

I’ve found it yesterday - the last season of “Lost”. Now I can see it before it’ll be shown on the local TV.

One more and that will be all … I think.

This necklace is a gift for my sister as well.
A rectangular cabochon of dark-blue pietersite, Czech and Japanese seed beads.
I am very pleased with the result: pendant looks very smart. But it wasn’t easy to make a good photo of it. The pendant seems to be not too photogenic :)

There is summertime and our vacation is close, very close – only five days away. Those few last days I’m using to make some presents for my family. Two necklaces with pendants, which I finished last week, will go to my mother in law and my sister.

Two-month delay

Golden sunrays are melting blue-gray ice. And although there are still plenty snow around, that’s March – the first month of spring.
